(NEXSTAR) —  American Jagger Eaton thought he was in a position to win a gold medal in men’s street skateboarding in Paris. Instead, Yuto Horigome of Japan landed an insane trick to take the top of the podium away from the 23-year-old.

“The roller coaster I was I thought I won, and then I got off the ride,” Eaton said. “Yuto, it’s all respect. I feel like at that level, between first, second and third, you could’ve picked anybody to win.”

Eaton had one final chance to springboard Horigome and claim gold. Instead, he wiped out on his final jump of the day.

In a conversation with Nexstar’s Aileen Hnatiuk, Eaton reveal he’s already looking forward. Eaton said he’s never satisfied and he “can’t wait” to compete in Los Angeles in 2028.
