PARIS, France (WAVY) — Grant Holloway, silver medalist in the 110-meter hurdles, says he is excited and confident as he prepares for his second Olympics in Paris.

“This is the most confident I’ve been going into a major,” said Holloway. He emphasized the importance of focusing on each round and making it to the finish line. “When I get in the final, it doesn’t matter what time I run, I’m going to just make sure I get to the finish line for everybody else.”

Holloway’s family and friends are on their way to Paris to support him. “Just to have people in the stands, to know my story and know who I am, not just as a person but as an athlete as well, I think it’s just going to mean the world to, you know, to whatever we have to do,” he shared.

Reflecting on his journey, Holloway expressed gratitude for the support from his hometown and the country. “The journey has been long. I’m, quote unquote, the ‘old head’ on the team now, because I’ve made so many teams and just been with everybody. This is my seventh, I want to say, my seventh USA team,” he said. Holloway is excited about competing on a purple track for the first time, describing it as “pretty dope.”

As he looks forward to the first round on August 4th, Holloway is ready to build on his achievements. “To have five world titles, to have a world record, to have an Olympic silver, and to be the fastest man indoors and the second fastest man outdoors, I think the resume is just going to continue to build,” he stated.

Holloway concluded the interview by expressing his excitement and readiness to compete. “I’m really just excited to get out there,” he said. “All roads are going to lead to the first round here on August 4th.”
