(NEXSTAR)- Olympic triathlete Morgan Pearson says he keeps his Olympic medal tucked away in his closet to keep himself focused.
“I wanna be hungry for the next one,” Pearson said. “Constantly looking at an Olympic medal, I think maybe that takes some of that drive away.”
Pearson earned a silver medal as the anchor leg for the U.S. Mixed Relay team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The 30-year-old from New Vernon, New Jersey will compete in the triathlon in Paris this summer.
“I think this one is gonna be a really different experience. I’m really excited that there’s fans,” Pearson said.
Pearson says he plans to watch replays of his trial to see how the current in the Seine River affects the race. Pearson was a seven-time All-American runner at the University of Colorado-Boulder.
