WAYNESBORO, Va. (AP) — A Virginia man has been sentenced to three years in prison for attacking his fiancée after goading her into a three-way sexual encounter with another man.

Twenty-six-year-old Clayburn Graves III of Waynesboro was sentenced Wednesday after pleaded guilty to strangulation and malicious wounding stemming from the March attack.

Waynesboro Commonwealth’s Attorney David Ledbetter told The News Virginian Graves was drunk when he prodded his reluctant fiancée to have sex with him and another man.

Ledbetter said Graves became angry during the encounter for reasons that remain unclear. He struck her in the face and choked her until she was unconscious.

The other man intervened and the woman escaped to the police department, bloodied and naked. She ended up with a broken nose, concussion and strangulation injuries.
