PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The American Red Cross is partnering with four local fire departments to sound the alarm about fire safety. The number one tragedy the American Red Cross responds to are home fires. So to help prevent home fires, the American Red Cross needs your help to go door-to-door May 4 to check and provide free smoke detectors.
