SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk Police have arrested a man they had detained earlier Tuesday in connection to a domestic-related shooting that left one woman dead.

Darion Robb, 29, of Suffolk, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter and is being held without bond in Western Tidewater Regional Jail.

Police are calling the death of Allyjah Rivera, 23, of Suffolk a domestic-related homicide.

According to police, the call for the shooting came in around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of North 10th Street. When officers arrived, they found a woman, later identified as Rivera, with a gunshot wound. Suffolk Fire & Rescue treated her at the scene and took her to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time, and there is no further information available for release.

Robb, the man who, according to police, shot Rivera, was still on the scene when officers arrived. They detained Robb and took him to police headquarters before arresting him.
