VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man from Charlotte, North Carolina was found guilty in a shooting at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront that left one woman seriously hurt.

Officers responded to the Hyatt Hotel on Atlantic Avenue, near 27th Street just after midnight on February of last year. They found a woman with a gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed her to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say 50-year-old Garvin Louis Andrews has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in a felony.

On July 27,2020, Andrews was found guilty of both charges.

His sentencing is set for November 9.

Policce said the woman injured in the shooting is still listed in critical condition.
