(NBC News) — On Friday’s episode of “Dateline,” Keith Morrison reports new revelations in the murder case of professional cyclist Moriah Wilson that made worldwide headlines.
The two-hour broadcast will include fresh courtroom evidence, a police interview with a key witness and an exclusive interview with the killer’s plastic surgeon, who was unaware of the murderer’s intentions to elude authorities.
Here is a preview of Morrison’s story:
It was too late, for all their frantic haste, the young woman lying on the bathroom floor in the tiny above-the-garage apartment was long beyond saving.
The other one, the one who’d called 911, who’d tried and tried CPR, was a mess. Nothing she could do.
Whoever shot her friend had made quite sure of the result. This was murder. It was just before 10 p.m., May 11, 2022, Austin, Texas.
What happened in that little apartment on a hot spring night shocked the gravel racing world.
DET SPITLER: One of the detectives was very big into bike racing and she actually called me. She asked me, she said, “Wait, is — is this for real?” I said, “Yeah.” She was like, “This is huge.”
Oh yes, big and awful. How to comprehend the murder of Mo Wilson?
The seething resentments before it the crazy events that followed it the suspect determined to escape justice — twice!
All of it so very strange.
Friday for the first time, the whole story. New video and sound of that terrible night. An inside account of the investigation. And the never-before-told tales of the hunt for the killer.
Watch “Dateline: The Night Time Stopped” Friday at 9 p.m. on NBC4.
