RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia native and singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams was spotted at a local Richmond-area restaurant as filming for his musical set in Virginia Beach is underway.
According to a Facebook post from the restaurant, Pharrell Williams visited Croaker’s Spot for a quick bite as filming for his musical is underway in Central Virginia.
Pharrell Williams is producing a coming-of-age film set in Virginia Beach in the 1970s, which will be based on Williams’ own experiences.
According to Governor Glenn Youngkin, filming for the musical will take place in various parts of Central and Coastal Virginia this spring and summer.
8News previously spoke with the film’s casting director Chad Darnell, who said the musical will also feature Disney’s 2023 The Little Mermaid star and singer-songwriter Halle Bailey and 2024 Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
In the Facebook post, Croaker’s Spot said, “You never know who is going to stop by the restaurant! Thank you Virginia’s own Pharrell Williams for dining with us!”
