This last weekend was as nice as advertised! The humidity was low. We had a good amount of sunshine. Plus, we had cool mornings with warm afternoons. However, this upcoming work week is going to be back to the very Summery weather. Humidity did increase a little bit yesterday, but it wasn’t bad. Now the dew points are in the mid 60s.

Dew Points

This is due to the light and steady southwest breeze that has developed over the last 24 hours. High pressure is offshore.

Regional Weather Map

Other than that there’s no big weather features near our region. There was a stationary front over the Ohio River Valley, but it has fallen apart. However, the increasing moisture has created some scattered rain showers. There were quite a bit this morning between 4 and 8am.

Scattered Showers This Morning

These morning showers will taper off soon. We’ll have some quiet weather around midday. Then more scattered showers and storms will form this afternoon into the evening.

Future Trak Late Day

During that time there may be some heavy downpours. Some of these could slow down parts of the evening commute. There could be some isolated strong gusts of wind, but I don’t expect severe weather.

High temps will rise to the mid 80s.

Forecast Temps Today

Tomorrow we’ll be partly cloudy with some isolated showers or storms in the afternoon. There will be a little more activity just to our southwest.

Future Trak Tuesday Afternoon

High temps will be in the low-mid 80s with a light east breeze. We’ll have an increasing chance for showers and storms on Wednesday and Thursday. High temps will warm up some more. They’ll run in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.

Temperature Trend

When you combine the humidity then it will feel like the low-mid 90s Wednesday and Thursday. Luckily I think we’ll dry out by next Friday and the weekend. I’ll have more on that in tomorrow’s weather blog.

In world news… They aren’t making the headlines too much, but the extreme heat waves over other parts of the globe are continuing. The recent heat waves in India and Pakistan have been deadly. They have affected thousands. The heat across the U.S. Gulf coast could really start to be extreme again over the next couple of weeks. It could be a very long Summer for some folks in the northern hemisphere.
