PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – My first week here at WAVY News 10 has been unwavering and consistent in its work ethic, and nothing short. I have been trained in a few positions inside of the productions department, and have already been through a few live runs of the show.
I recently made a mistake during production, but I can take and learn from this. I hope to soon shadow a camera operator to learn and gain more insight on the camera operators position, as well as knowing what goes through their head during a show, and how the switcher and camera operator communicate during that time to have everything in place. I would also like to shadow a productions switcher to gain more knowledge on how they are able to code and time their switches. Lastly, I hope I get a chance at working as a camera operator, and hopefully run cameras during a show.
