DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) – A man is facing several felony drug charges after a traffic stop near Kinnakeet Boulevard.

According to officials, on July 3 around 10:56 p.m., a deputy with the Dare County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on NC Highway 12, near Kinnakeet Boulevard. Probable cause was established during the stop for a search of the vehicle.

During the search, an amount of fentanyl, heroin and other drug paraphernalia was located and seized.

The investigation led to a hotel room where the suspect, later identified at 45-year-old William Thaddeus Bridgeman, was staying. While there, cocaine, marijuana, prescription medication and additional drug paraphernalia were located and seized.

Bridgeman was then arrested and charged with possession of a schedule I drug, two counts of possession of a schedule II drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling.

Bridgeman is currently being held under a $50,000 secured bond.
