NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A North Carolina man was killed following a shooting over the weekend in Newport News.
Newport News police said they received a call for a shooting in the area of 22nd Street & Oak Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22.

First responders found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper left torso. He was treated on scene and then rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Police later identified the man as 44-year-old Larry Hartwell Vick Jr., of Henderson, North Carolina.
A suspect in the shooting has been described as a male last seen wearing a black skull cap, camouflage style jacket with white painters pants.
