PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The Portsmouth Fire Department responded to a house fire on Sterling Point Drive Wednesday afternoon.
According to officials, at around 4:20 p.m., crews were dispatched to the 2700 block of Sterling Point Drive for reports of a house fire.
Crews arrived to the scene and found fire coming from the windows. After a quick fire attack, crews were able to contain the fire to the room of origin. Chesapeake fire assisted with Portsmouth crews as part of the areas Auto Aid program.
Moderate smoke damage was found throughout the home and no injuries were reported.
The fire remains under investigation.
