CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Chesapeake City officials are warning residents about a scam involving water testing services.
According to officials, scammers are visiting homes claiming to be City Public Utilities workers.
Official city workers will always show up in a white city vehicle marked with the city logo and will only visit for water testing if specifically requested. Chesapeake Public Utilities employees will also never request access to a residents’ home.
