NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A pedestrian was struck by The Tide light rail Saturday evening, ahead of the Grand Illumination Parade.

Norfolk Police said they responded to the intersection of Colley Avenue and W. Brambleton Avenue around 6:10 p.m. Saturday evening for the report of an accident involving a light rail and a pedestrian on a Lime e-scooter. This is near the EVMS/Fort Norfolk stop, the last stop on the light rail’s westbound trip.

The pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The preliminary investigation determined that the Lime e-scooter was found stuck under the train. The pedestrian was not.
