CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The Chesapeake Police Department received their largest police academy class in five years on Monday.
While they’ve faced a few departures, 29 recruits of the 78th Chesapeake Police Academy class have completed their first week of training.
Over 30% of the recruits happen to be women.
The police department expressed well wishes to the recruits in a social media post as they continue their journeys towards becoming officers.
The next academy starts on March 31, 2025.
