(NEXSTAR) — Whether you forgot an item or need a replacement meal for a burnt turkey, the retailers open to serve your needs on Thanksgiving Day may be a bit limited.
Many major retailers, like Target and Walmart, are continuing a tradition they started during the COVID pandemic and will remain closed for the holiday. (You can see a full list of those major retailers here.)
However, many nationwide grocery chains and retailers will be open on Thanksgiving. It is worth noting that hours can vary by location, so it’s best to check online or by calling ahead before you try to visit your nearest store.
Albertsons
A representative tells Nexstar that Albertsons stores will be open for Thanksgiving but hours may vary. You can find your store’s hours online.

Food Lion has more than 1,000 locations in southeastern states. Fun fact: the store’s name comes from the fact that it was initially located next to a lion park. 10 On Your Side confirmed with a local Food Lion that it will close on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, 2024, at 3 p.m. Holiday store hours could vary, so check with your local store.

Harris Teeter operates more than 250 stores and 60 fuel centers in seven states and the District of Columbia. 10 On Your Side confirmed with a store in Hampton Roads that its Thanksgiving Day store hours are from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. Check with your local store, as hours can vary.
