SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A teenager on a bicycle was found at fault after police say he was hit by a car Tuesday night in Suffolk.
Suffolk officials said police as well as fire and rescue were dispatched to the scene in the 900 block of Portsmouth Boulevard just before 10 p.m.
Officials said a preliminary investigation found the teen was swerving in and out of a travel lane when he was hit by a Honda passenger vehicle. A second vehicle sustained minor damage when it hit the bicycle, which was in the middle of the roadway.
The driver stayed on scene following the incident.
Officials said the teen was treated on scene by fire and rescue personnel before he was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
