It was a very cold start to the day with below freezing temps. Temperatures this morning were generally around 10° colder than yesterday morning.
Thankfully, the frigid start will not hug us all day. Actually, High pressure will have an influence on our weather from the SW. The clockwise flow around that High will allow for a more W/SW flow into our area today. This is a warmer flow which should allow temps to reach the low 50s (average for this time of year).
The High will move offshore of the SE coast tomorrow, and a more SW wind will prevail. This will continue with warming our temps up, but there will be a cloud deck that slides into the area also. Plan for Mid 50s (a tad warmer than today), but more cloud cover overall. Our lower atmosphere looks rather dry for Sunday. So, as for now, if there are any showers…much of it shouldn’t reach the ground. Yet, a spotty shower (10% chance) is possible.
Otherwise, the best chance for rain doesn’t look to be until Tuesday…affiliated with a cold front that will be sliding into our area.
Ahead of the front, it’ll get unseasonably warm as the SW winds continue to pump in the heat from the South. As previously mentioned, average high for this time of year is around the low 50s, but we’re expecting 60s to start this upcoming week…
…with the warmest day on Tuesday. Highs for Tuesday could reach the Mid to upper 60s. So, get ready for a gradual warm up over the next several days…with generally quiet weather Again, by Tuesday afternoon…an umbrella will be needed. Until then, enjoy the weekend since the weather will be very cooperative for outdoor plans, shopping, or prepping for the holidays. ***Winter begins this Thursday, December 21st just before 11:30AM E.S.T** It looks like we’ll start the new season with nice & seasonable weather…stay tuned.
