SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters responded to a residential fire that displaced six people early Monday morning. 

Emergency communications were notified at 2:12 a.m. for the fire in the 2300 block of Juniper Lane. Crews arrived on scene nine minutes later to find heavy smoke showing from the attic. 

The fire was marked under control at 3:22 a.m. No injuries were reported. 

Five adults and one child were displaced and currently receiving assistance by the American Red Cross. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
