Michelle Wolf joined the WAVY team in July 2021 as a nightside reporter. She comes to Hampton Roads from North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad where she reported and fill-in anchored for WAVY’s sister station FOX8 WGHP in High Point. At FOX8 she worked every shift in the book–covering the Coronavirus Pandemic, the 2020 Presidential Election, George Floyd protests and back-to-back EF-1 tornadoes (one of which was directly over the station during a live newscast) to name a few.
Prior to reporting in the Triad, Michelle started her career in the Midwest just off the Mississippi River where she was a multimedia journalist, producer and fill-in anchor for KHQA News in Quincy, Illinois. She covered news in Western Illinois, Northeast Missouri and Southeast Iowa. It was at KHQA that she was awarded Best Feature Reporter by the Iowa Broadcast News Association.
Michelle graduated from Penn State University with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Italian. WE ARE! At Penn State she was avidly involved in The Centre County Report, ComRadio and THON. She also reported in Panama through Penn State’s international reporting program.
Born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs, Michelle is a big Eagles, cheesesteak and Wawa fan. She’s excited to explore her new home and loves the beach.
In her free time Michelle likes to work out, cook and go on adventures in Hampton Roads with her Siberian husky Kodak. You can catch her on WAVY News weekday nights at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.
