A foggy start to Sunday will give way to a day that features a wide swing in temperatures from north to south. Across parts of NE NC, we’ll likely climb into the 60s today. For the southside, upper 50s will be likely the closer you are to the James River or Bay. Further south closer to the NC state line in Chesapeake, Suffolk and VA Beach, we could see some upper 50s.
For the Peninsula and points north, temperatures look to be in the 50s for much of the day.
A few showers will be possible this afternoon and once again tonight as some wrap around moisture moves in. Most of the showers should be light with some mist also possible.
I would not be shocked to see some of the fog stick around at the coast once again today. This will impacts parts of the Eastern Shore, northern part of VA Beach and the Ocean View area.
Heading into Monday, we’ll see COLD temperatures once again with highs in the 40s. With a gusty wind, it will feel like the 30s for much of the day.
The week overall is pretty calm, with just a few showers on Wednesday and perhaps into early Thursday. Right now, the colder air looks to be confined to the mountains so it’s just all rain for us once again. Our next snow chance may have to wait until the first week of February, but no guarentees. I do think we’ll see some cooler temperatures the first 10 days of February, so that’s one ingredient we need.
Have a great Sunday!
