The weekend will be breezy, but decent across the area with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Humidity will be elevated across the area this weekend. A few showers will be possible, mainly in the southern OBX where you’ll be a little closer to an area of low pressure that is trying to develop off the coast.

That’s what we’ll be watching Sunday – the development of the low to our south and how well it organizes. The main impacts would be heavy rain (1-2″ for VA, 2-5″ OBX) and some breezy conditions (gusts to 30-35 mph). Some tidal flooding could also occur, especially Monday night into Tuesday. At this time, the most rain looks to move in on Tuesday. Timing and impats could change, so check back with us tomorrow into Monday once the low forms as we nail down specifics.

There’s a a chance this system could become a tropical/subtropical storm. In terms of impacts, nothing changes with that, but just want to make you aware of the possibility so you’re not surprised by a quick forming storm. Since it’s close to land, the NHC may designated it as a Potential Tropical Cyclone later this weekend if they think the chances of that happening are high.

An unsettled pattern continues through much of the week with daily rainfall chances. Not all day rain, but some on/off showers. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s to near 80.

Hope you have a great weekend!
