A very calm and cool weekend is ahead for our region – with mostly sunny skies expected.
For Saturday, we’ll see partly to mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low to mid 40s at the coast. Inland areas should be in the mid to upper 40s. A north wind about 5-10 mph will just help to keep a lid on temperatures today. High pressure nearby will help keep us dry.
Overnight, calm weather continues with temperatures falling into the low to mid 30s. Expect another nice day on Sunday, with mostly sunny skies and a light north wind.
The cooler temperatures continue into the work week, with Monday seeing highs in the upper 40s. An area of low pressure starts to move to our south late Monday. With high pressure to the north, this will create a pressure gradient that will increase our winds. Monday will be breezy, with windy conditions Tuesday. Some gusts to 30 mph will be possible. We could also see some increased tide levels Monday-Wednesday.
Rain chances however look limited – with no rain in the forecast for the next 7 days. Late next week, into Friday, temperatures will rebound into the upper 50s to low 60s ahead of a system that looks to move towards the East Coast next weekend. Some showers may occur next weekend.
Meanwhile, out on the west coast- a major storm system will start to impact California Sunday. You’ll be hearing about this and probably seeing some wild video of the impacts over the next few days. The National Weather Service is warning of life threatening flooding in parts of southern California as inches of rain falls. Heavy snow will occur in the higher terrain.
That system and the energy from it will eventually evolve into a system in the central US. The front will approach the eastern US by late next week. Ahead of that, we’ll see warmer temperatures as we head towards next Friday/Saturda here.
Hope you have a great weekend!
