This weekend, we’ll see some cooler temperatures in the region with a chance for a few showers – mainly late in the day on Saturday.

What’s going on is an upper level low is swinging into our area from the Ohio Valley. As this moves in, we’ll see some increased cloud cover this afternoon and the chance for a few rain showers. There could even be some small hail, sleet or graupel that mixes in with the rain. This is common for upper level lows as they have a lot of cold air aloft with them. So as the system moves in and showers develop and grow up in size, they can tap into some of that colder air aloft and create a variety of precipitation.

Sunday will be cool, but with more sunshine. As we head into the work week, we’ll see our winds shift to more of a south/southwest direction, helping to drive our temperatures up into the upper 60s to low 70s by Tuesday/Wednesday.

A strong cold front to our west will approach late Wednesday into Thursday. This will bring some showers and perhaps a few t-storms to the area. This system moves out quickly, and by Friday we’re cool once again.

If you missed the sunrise this morning, it was a good one. This was the view from Avon!

Hope you have a great weekend!
