A fantastic weekend of weather is expected across the region, with lots of sunshine. We will still see some wind today, with gusts from the west around 30-35 mph at times.

With the west wind, some soundside flooding will still be possible today in the OBX and southern VA Beach. This morning, some residual water will likely cause minor flooding in the Sandbridge/Pungo area of southern VA Beach and Knotts Island.

The western wind will keep us in the low 70s today.

As we head into Sunday, we’ll start off the day with some cool temperatures inland with low 40s far inland and near 50s at the coast. With a SW wind, temperatures will climb quickly Sunday into the upper 70s to near 80.

Much of the next week will also be mild, with temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80. However, on Tuesday, we’ll see a NE wind thanks to a backdoor cool front sliding into the area Monday night – resulting in cooler temperatures near the coast. Right along the immediate shoreline, expect highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Inland a few miles, it will be in the low 70s. Make your way inland even more, and we’re talking mid to upper 70s if not low 80s!

A few spotty showers could occur Monday night and then again in the afternoons next week. However, the our next bigger rain chance looks to hold off until late in the week on Friday/Saturday.

Have a great weekend!
