As we head into the holiday weekend, we’ll have a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday with some isolated showers/storms possible. Temperatuers will be in the low to mid 80s. Near the beach, the weather looks nice with temperatures close to 77 for Virginia Beach. The rip current threat will be low all weekend with waves only 1-2ft.

Sunday, we’ll once again see a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures slightly warmer, in the mid 80s. Just like Saturday, a shower or storm could pop up with a downpour or two possible.

Neither day looks like a washout. Essentially, your average summer pattern with a few PM storms and some heat/humidity! The Memorial Day weekend classic! Some people see them, other’s don’t. Remember, if you can hear thunder you’re close enough to be struck by lightning.

As we head into Memorial Day, we’ll have a few more clouds on Monday with some scattered showers and storms. Out of the three days, Memorial Day itself looks like the day with the highest rain chances. A few could be strong to severe, with heavy rain a possibility. High temps will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Friday evening, we saw a cluster of showers and storms fire up and move south/southeast, with most of them sticking to interior portions of Southside. Rainfall totals in parts of Suffolk were over 1″, while in most of VB there were minimal rainfall totals.

Hope you have a great weekend!
