Temperatures this weekend will be very comfortable, with mornings in the 60s and afternoons in the 70s. The dry pattern developing keeps bright skies around through Saturday & Sunday, however, Saturday could feature a brief afternoon shower.

A bigger shot of cooler, autumnal air comes crashing next week with our next cool front. A few showers are possible later Monday with the front before temperatures and humidity plummet for a majority of next week.

Out there in the tropics, things remain quite active. Major Hurricane Kirk remains out in the Atlantic, sending a swell to the east coast this weekend and early next week. Behind Kirk is Leslie, which is forecasted to become a hurricane this weekend as it slowly traverses west in the south-central Atlantic. It’s extended track / forecast is still quite uncertain, so check back in early next week on Leslie. In the Gulf of Mexico, there could be a big, tropical rain maker for the Florida Peninsula midweek next week as another system develops. Our autumnal cool front on the way keeps that activity to our south.

There will be some increased swell and rip current risks at the coast this weekend, thanks to the waves from Kirk even though it’s hundreds of miles to our east. Powerful hurricanes can produce swells and currents that extend out hundreds of miles – so be wary of that if you’re entering the water.

Hope you have a great weekend!
