A warming trend continues as we head into the weekend. For Saturday, we’ll see highs in the low 70s with a good amount of sunshine. Our average temperatures this time of the year is in the mid 60s, so temperatures will be about 5-10 degrees above average. A few spots will be cooler- along the coast, the OBX and the Eastern Shore.
For Easter Sunday, we’ll have a stationary front nearby. This will cause a split in our weather, with cooler temperatures to the north and warmer temperatures to the south. Highs will be in the low mid 70s for parts of the Southside and NE NC, with temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70 further north across the Peninsula and Middle Peninsula. The Eastern Shore and northern parts of the Middle Peninsula could be only in the mid 60s We’ll see a dry morning, with a few more clouds especially late in the day. There are a few chances for rain showers in the afternoon and evening, , with an isolated shower also possible overnight.
More clouds and a few scattered showers/storms return to the forecast for Monday. Highs will be in the low 70s. A few more showers, and maybe a t-storm will be possible Tuesday as temperatures remain in the 70s. A stronger storm can’t be ruled out, especially to the north. A front moves into the region Wednesday, bringing a end to the 70s with temperatures Thursday falling back into the upper 50s to low 60s.
Have a great weekend!
