Windy conditions are expected Sunday. Some 35-50 mph gusts along the immediate coast will be likely with 20-40 inland. We’ll see mostly sunny skies, but with the wind it will feel much cooler – only like the low 40s for much of the afternoon!
Winds will not be as strong Monday, but it will still be breezy.
These winds may lead to a prolonged period of minor tidal flooding starting Sunday and lasting into Tuesday, thanks to the combination of wind and the full moon. There may also be some ocean overwash and/or minor tidal flooding over the Outer Banks, with soundside flooding Sunday/Monday.
Things calm down as we head into the work week. We’ll have decreasing wind on Monday (still a bit breezy but not as bad) with dry conditions and highs in the 50s. We’ll be cool and dry on Tuesday with some scattered showers by Wednesday. A good chance for rain moves in Wednesday night into Thursday.
Hope you have a great weekend!
