PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Well, friends, we are fast approaching the end of this experience, as my next account of this journey will be my last. But throughout the time that I have spent here, the most important thing that you can do in any field of human endeavor is to leave a legacy. A few days ago, I got a first-hand experience of what it means to leave a legacy.

The sports department and I were gracious enough to cover the Virginia Squires reunion in Portsmouth. There, Craig interviewed Basketball Hall of Famer Julius “Dr. J” Erving, who played for the Squires from 1971-1973.

At this event was fellow Hall of Famers George “Iceman” Gervin and Charlie Scott. There was also a few other former players and a couple of coaches from the ABA.

By far, this was the highlight of this experience for me, which is saying something because there have been many highlights from this experience.

As the time winds down for this experience, I hope to have done more than enough to establish a legacy for myself. As much as I do not want this experience to end, the grains of sand in the hourglass are getting few.

But despite this being near the end, I’ve still got work to do.
