PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – I have made it to the end of my internship at WAVY and am leaving with so much knowledge, wisdom, and experience of working in a newsroom.
This has been such an incredible internship and this station is filled with some of the best individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
I have learned how to write web stories, conduct interviews, edit footage, write packages, shoot stand-ups, run cameras and prompters, floor direct and so many other things that I could go on and on about.
I grew up watching WAVY and it is unbelievable that I can now continue to watch WAVY with an entirely new understanding of what goes on before, after, and during a live newscast.
I have been able to learn from some of the very same anchors and reporters that I grew up watching and I am so very appreciative.
Putting on my WAVY badge every day this summer was one of the proudest things I have ever done.
The badge instantly gave me strength on many days when I was so exhausted. The badge made me instantly level up like Super Mario.
This internship may have come to an end, but I plan on working very hard to come back to this station one day.
THANK YOU WAVY!!
