PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — I can’t believe I only have two weeks left at my internship. When you are learning and growing, time goes by fast.

I had the opportunity to attend Virginia Intern Day with Intern Coordinator Stephanie Cooke and Investigative Reporter Brett Hall. I spent the day in Richmond as WAVY was celebrated as one of the top employers for interns. Sitting in the chair amongst other interns is something I don’t take for granted. I enjoyed hearing remarks from elected officials about their career journey.

Since I’ve gotten the hang of the HRS show, I’ve been dabbling in other departments. I went out with promotions to shoot an Olympic promo with Tom Schaad. I loved watching Mike, Antonio and Nicole work together. Their job allows them to have full creative control. They come up with the talent, script, location and camera shot to make their vision come to life.

I have also been behind the scenes as I wish to pursue a career in production. Every day I run teleprompter for midday and cameras once or twice a week. Next week, I’m going to run the prompter for the full show!
