PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Now that I’ve made myself more comfortable in my cubicle, I’ve really gotten to work! It’s all pretty routine now.
I’ve been helping Karolyn more and more with the social media aspect of WAVY. I’ve made a few graphics and short-form videos for small businesses. It’s strengthened my communication skills by having to redesign campaigns for each client.
When I was in the sixth grade, I had a touch screen laptop that could barely run. Somehow, I found out about the glorious software known as Adobe AfterEffects. AfterEffects (in my own words) is a super fancy video editing software — definitely out of my 13-year-old expertise. My favorite movie, “Everything Everywhere All at Once” was edited on AfterEffects!
I learned the basics of the program, but got caught up with other middle school endeavors. Now that I’ve started editing consistently, I decided to use this internship as an opportunity to reignite the flame I had with AfterEffects. News flash: I’m bad. I’m trying to get better though!
I’ve worked with people in other departments and listened in on appointments. However, the real work gets done in my sweet little cubicle. I’m so grateful to be here!
I still don’t have the hang of taking pictures of my experiences here. I’ll tell you I can take a mean selfie though.
