Yesterday’s weather was awesome outside. We took advantage of it, and my wife and I went for a long bike ride in the early afternoon. We had lots of sunshine with warm temps as predicted.

High Temps Yesterday

The thing that amazes me is how much the temperatures have been swinging between the mornings and the afternoons. Yesterday morning we started off in the 40s. Then we made it up into the low-mid 70s in the afternoon. This morning we dropped down to the 40s again.

Temperature History

Today the warmup will be even more dramatic. After starting in the 40s with a few 30s inland we will warm all the way up to the upper 70s later this afternoon. There may even be a couple of 80s inland/south.

Forecast Temperatures
Forecast Temps Today

We’ll be mostly sunny all day with a light southwest wind. It will be cooler near the shore. Highs will be in the 60s on the Eastern Shore.

We have high pressure just to our south.

Regional Weather Map

Tomorrow we’ll be even warmer as the winds pick up out of the southwest. Gusts will be up to 25mph.

Wind Gusts Tomorrow

We’ll also be partly cloudy through the mid-afternoon. So high temps will push up to near 80 degrees.

Forecast Temps Tomorrow

The southwest breeze will feel nice, but it will also pull up more moisture out of the south. So it will basically feel like early Summer during the afternoon Friday. Clouds will increase some more by the late afternoon. We’ll have enough moisture for some isolated to scattered showers late in the day.

Future Trak Late Afternoon

There won’t be too many showers, but there will be some more scattered showers into the evening and overnight. This will be along a cold front that will slide to our south by Saturday morning. There will be some isolated showers Saturday morning, but we should be pretty dry for the rest of the day. It should be pretty good for the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Oceanview. There may just be a few sprinkles. Temps will be in the 50s. A couple of sprinkles may continue through midday. With the front stalling out just to our south we’ll have a cooler day. High temps will only be in the 60s.

Temperature Trend

That’s not too bad, but it’s definitely cooler. The good news is that we should warm up a bit on Sunday with highs near 70. The forecast for Sunday has dried out. Perhaps it’s the Luck Of The Irish? We will be cooler early next week. High temps will only be in the 50s Monday and Tuesday. We’ll moderate a little bit later next week.

I saw this article about some recent large hail from a big storm in Kansas. It was up to softball sized in some places. There is often large hail in the central U.S. during big storms, but we don’t always get to see pictures of it. Here is the article with more information and those pics: Recent large hail in Kansas.
