Va. Beach native, NASCAR pioneer to compete on NBC’s ‘The Titan Games’

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Thursday night’s episode of “The Titan Games” on WAVY-TV 10 will feature Virginia Beach’s own Brehanna Daniels, a history-maker in the world of NASCAR.

Daniels became the first female African-American tire changer to reach the NASCAR cup level last year.

The trailblazer played basketball at Norfolk State University in the same gym where she took her chances with NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program almost three years ago.

When Nathan Epstein spoke with Daniels on the Sportswrap last year about her NASCAR debut, she said, “This feeling is surreal, honestly.”

Now, Daniels is testing her talents in a different competition — The Titan Games.

The show, airing at 8 p.m. ET, is a large-scale physical competition series hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Daniels will go head-to-head against other competitors through tests of speed, strength, agility and endurance. At the end, one man and one woman will be crowned “Titans” and take home a $100,000 grand prize.

Norfolk State University is hosting a watch party to cheer Daniels on starting at 7:45 p.m. in Room 149 of the Student Center.
