PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Empty Bowls Virginia Peninsula was a concept that started from two art teachers in Michigan having their students create ceramic bowls for a fundraiser for soup kitchens and local foodbanks. It is now a nonprofit organization that fights against hunger and food insecurity worldwide. Suzy Klyman and Linda Haugh talk about the project and its upcoming fundraising event ‘Empty Bowls’ on March 8 at the Historic Post Office in Downtown Hampton.
