PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Wreaths Across America honors veterans by placing a live wreath on their graves at Christmas time. More than 3,600 veterans are buried locally at Forest Lawn Cemetary in Norfolk. The Daughters of the American Revolution Adam Thoroughgood chapter is looking for volunteers to ensure no grave gets missed. Florence Reese and Esther Dean shared more on how you can help.

The wreaths will be laid at Forest Lawn Cemetary on December 14 and they’re looking for volunteers on that day. They also need people who want to assist in placing flags on veterans’ graves to mark them on Dec. 7. If you’d like to help out, email WAAAdamThoroughgood@gmail.com.
