HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — There’s a magical Christmas party that takes place the first Saturday of every December in Hampton.

The invite list is exclusive and only includes adults with special needs – 450 usually attend.

Jane Hobbs has been hosting this party for the past thirty years. She believes everyone should have a happy holiday, shouldn’t be alone and should have something to unwrap. That’s why everyone gets a gift.

All of the presents are donated and individually wrapped – and what’s a good party without food and music? Jane and her elves make the food and a DJ keeps everyone in the Christmas Spirit.

This year’s party is Saturday, December 1 at The Alley in Newmarket Square and Jane reached out to say, she could really use more helpers to finish wrapping presents, assist with food trays and work the festivities.

Jane and her crew don’t stop with the Christmas party, she also has four Angel Trees for special needs adults set up on the Peninsula. One is at Century Lanes Bowling Center in Hampton, another is at the Newport News Moose Lodge, the third is at the Hampton Moose Lodge and the fourth is located at the Poquoson Diner.

Consider granting an adult’s wish this holiday season. Often Jane’s recipients are not surrounded by family and friends and this gift means the world to them.

If you would like to help out with the big Christmas Party or learn more about the Angel Trees, reach out to Jane Hobbs via e-mail at ableRus123.gmail.com or call (757) 869-3528.
