Build The City: Saturday, January 19 

Children and adults will put their imagination and creativity to the test by creating large scale models of Hampton buildings using boxes other recyclables, construction paper, chalk and paint. Volunteers and staff will be on-hand to teach the “building blocks” of architecture.

Total Lunar Eclipse: Sunday, January 20

Join the Back Bay Amateur Astronomers at the Chesapeake Planetarium to observe a total lunar eclipse this weekend! During this eclipse, the Earth will come between the Sun and the Moon in just the right way so that the shadow of our planet is cast entirely cast across the Moon. Hot coffee and donuts will be available inside the planetarium so you’ll have a place to warm up.

Decades of Dance: Friday, January 18

For their 10th Anniversary, the Downing Gross Cultural Arts Center is hosting a five-part dance series. They’re kickin’ it old school with an 80’s hip-hop theme. Choreographer Angela Brown-Myers will wow the audience with this “def” performance. It’s sure to be certified fresh!
