HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — The national virtual All Veterans Job Fair is set to take place on May 5.
The virtual career expo is open to veterans, their spouses, active-duty military personnel and members of the National Guard and Reserve. The expo is being held during National Military Appreciation Month and a day before Military Spouse Appreciation Day.
Officials from RecruitMilitary and DAV will host the virtual career fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET online. Registration is free.
During the expo, there will be employers from construction to medical and administrative to logistics. They are looking to hire positions from entry-level to senior management.
For years, military spouses have represented the highest rate of unemployment among Americans at a steady average of 24%. Officials say that figure is projected to significantly rise to a post-pandemic proportion of 35% by year-end.
