ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Elizabeth City is joining in the celebration for Juneteenth with a festival next weekend.

The event kicks off on June 14 at 5 p.m. at the Arts of the Albemarle. Then, on June 15, the main celebration is hosted at Waterfront Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event includes a DJ and several musical performances as well as a speaker.

For those wanting to bring their family, there will also be face painting, bounce houses, games, painting, vendors and a pageant. The flyer also mentions free food.

The following day, on June 16, a prayer breakfast is set to take place at Cornerstone Church.
