Hampton
Blackbeard Pirate Festival
June 1-2 in Downtown Hampton
The annual chance to visit 18th century Hampton as it is overrun by pirates! Pirate re-enactors will be on-site for this unique event, sharing historical details and stepping back in time. On Saturday visit from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. And, don’t miss a special fireworks display over the Hampton River at 9:30 p.m. On June 2, the festival begins at noon. There will be children’s activities, live music, vendors, arts and crafts and more for all visitors traveling to the pirate era. Click here to see the festival map, schedule and more.
Portsmouth
Portsmouth Pride Fest
Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Festival Park (next to the Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion)
Celebrate Pride in Portsmouth as Pride Month begins. There will be food and drinks, music, entertainment, vendors, and family activities. Bring your pups for dog activities too. According to the event, the day will be “filled with love, acceptance, and fun as we come together to support and uplift the LGBTQIA+ community”. It is free and open to the public. This is the third year of this event.

Virginia Beach
Jackalope Festival
May 31 – June 2 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront by 32nd Street
The action-sports, adrenaline filled festival is back at the oceanfront for the second year. All weekend, catch people take on base jumping, bouldering, open vert, street skating, skimboarding and more. Check out the competition, live music, vendors and more on the boardwalk and on the beach.

Point Break Festival
June 1-2 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on 5th Street
Headliners Sublime, Wiz Khalifa, Rebelution and Stephen Marley are coming to the two-day music festival at the Oceanfront this weekend. Other artists include Steel Pulse, Tribal Seeds, Pepper and more. It will be down the beach from Jackalope at 5th street right on the sand. Tickets are still available.
Newport News
Newport News Pride, the I AM What I am Pride Festival
2024 marks the second year of Newport News’ Pride festival. The collaboration event between Hampton Roads Pride and Tradition Brewing Co. will feature performances by the Red Stapler Duo, The King and Queens of Dance and all the all-female Journey cover band, Girl Can’t Help It! Suffolk
Suffolk Pride
Sunday, June 2 from noon to 7 p.m.
The 4th annual Suffolk Pride goes from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 2 at Bennett’s Creek Park. It’s free to attend and features live music, food, and even private boat rides on the water.
