VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Willie Nelson still isn’t ready to hit the road again and will not be performing at tonight’s show in Virginia Beach as part of the Outlaw Music Festival.
A previous announcement to his official X account June 21 had noted that Nelson was not feeling well, and per doctor’s orders, “has been advised to rest for the next four days,” with the expectation that he would make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour the following week.
However, a new announcement posted Wednesday to his official X account said that he would not be performing at the Virginia Beach show.
“We expect Willie to return to the tour shortly.”
Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss with Celisse will perform as scheduled, and Lukas Nelson and Family, with special guests, will play his own set to include Nelson classics and other songs.
The festival will go on as scheduled this evening at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater.
The first Outlaw Music Festival took place in 2016.
