March 8-10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 21373 Brewers Neck Blvd.

Visit the Outdoor Expo for free BBQ, drawings and giveaways, and more. You can visit with manufacturer representatives on site. There will be free parking and admission.

Norfolk

Shamrockin’ In Ghent

Friday, March 8 from 6-10 p.m. at 1507 Colley Ave

Kick off St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Norfolk’s historic Ghent district. The annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party will have live music, beer trucks, Irish whiskey and local food vendors. The Fighting Jamesons will play. The Tidewater Pipes and Drums will play right on the street at the beginning of the event. Drink tickets can be purchased at the “Ticket Tent” on-site. Proceeds for the event will benefit Hope House Foundation. The event is free and open to the public.

2024 Guns N Hoses Charity Hockey Game

Saturday, March 9 at 1 p.m. at Norfolk Scope, 201 E Brambleton Ave

The 14th Annual Guns & Hoses charity hockey game will see local police officers and firemen battling to raise money for Vigilant Watch. The event kicks off in the Exhibition Hall at 11 a.m. with live music, fire trucks, police vehicles and more. Doors open at noon before the 1 p.m. match. Tickets also work for the Norfolk Admirals game at 6:05 p.m. Tickets are still available. Click here to purchase.

Hank’s 6th Birthday Party & Pig Roast

Saturday, March 9 at noon at Hank’s Filling Station, 4301 Colley Ave

Celebrate 6 years of Hank’s Filling Station with a backyard bash. There will be a roast, Bourbon flights and live music throughout the day. At 4:30 p.m. get ready for Crazy DJ Music Bingo.

Norfolk All-Hands Community Chat & Chew: Spring Night Out Series

Friday, March 8 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Young Terrace Community Center, 804 Whitaker Lane

There will be fun kid activities with officers, food, fellowship, Q&As and more. Meet Community Violence Interrupters and CRO and NRHA Officers. There will be victim resources and information as well as the crime prevention call box. Free and open to the public.

Women’s Empowered Festival

Saturday, March 9 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Back Bay’s Farmhouse, 1805 Kempsville Rd.

Celebrate Women’s Month in March with live music on the porch, empowered beer release, food truck rodeo and Kate’s Market. Feature women rock bands, beer brewed by women of Back Bat, women owned food trucks and more.
