NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY)– Norfolk Police are investigating a triple shooting on Killam Avenue early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the 4800 block of Killam Avenue at 12:30 a.m.

Two men were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One has injuries considered to be life-threatening. A woman was treated on scene after being grazed by a bullet.

One neighbor said she saw the entire thing from her bedroom window.

“The dude was laying down and the girl was like touching him and screaming for like everyone to help him, but everyone was running. Then, I ran down to help, and my stepdad called the cops and everything,” she said.

She said her car window was shattered by the bullets.

“What if I was in the backseat trying to get something? It was right by my head almost.”

The shooting was about a block away from where a mass shooting happened last year.

In September 2022, shots fired after a house party left two people dead and five injured.

“There was a shooting down the street like a house shooting, so it was scary to see it closer.”

Another neighbor, an Old Dominion University student said now she’ll have to change her habits to stay safe.

“Not being out so late at night especially on weekends because that’s when the parties happen and a bit of intoxication and so forth and that’s what leads to violence.”
