2 charged after man dies in Virginia Beach shooting

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Two people have been charged after a man shot at a Virginia Beach-area 7-Eleven store on Monday died.

Virginia Beach responded to a store in the 1600 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard just after 2:15 a.m.


Police said an argument escalated into a man, 27-year-old Malcolm Adrian Jones, of Norfolk, being shot. Jones was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

In an update Wednesday, police said 20-year-old Malik Brown, of Norfolk, is charged with felonious assault, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession/transport a firearm by a convicted felon and murder.

Police have also charged 20-year-old Cornelia Otelia Taylor, of Norfolk, with accessory after the fact in a felony.
