ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Deputies arrested 22 people in a recent drug investigation nicknamed “Operation: House of Cards.”
According to the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Lt. Tommy Potter, some of the arrests were for people believed to be dealing the drugs.
Potter says getting suspected dealers in custody is a priority due to the number of overdose deaths.
Operation: House of Cards resulted in 97 felony indictments with almost all of the 22 suspects facing two or more charges, respectively, according to Potter.
Two of the suspects were juveniles, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Among the $24,105 worth of drugs seized from the operation: methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, LSD, heroin and other schedule I or schedule II drugs, Potter says.
