CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Twenty-six people are displaced after a large tree fell onto an apartment building in Chesterfield County Sunday evening.
According to Chesterfield County Fire and EMS, just before 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, crews responded to a call for a large tree that had fallen onto an apartment building in the 2000 block of Timbers Hill Road.
Officials said there were no injuries, but 12 apartments were evacuated due to unsafe conditions. Twenty-six residents are currently displaced, and it’s unclear how long it will be before they will be allowed to return home.
